IOC approved the inclusion of both sports

The International Olympic Committee IOC has approved the inclusion of both sports. The LA organizing committee itself had recommended adding cricket and squash to the Olympic Games in America. After this, the Apex Olympic Body accepted this recommendation during an executive meeting. The meeting was chaired by IOC President Thomas Beck.
