At the same time, former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) has such a record in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which neither Virat Kohli nor Ricky Ponting has been able to break.

Dhoni is the only captain to win three ICC trophies. Apart from this, he has the most wins as captain in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni captained the Indian Test team from 2008 to 2014. On the other hand, in the Border-Gavaskar series, Dhoni has played 13 Test matches as captain, in which he has won 8 and lost 4.

One match was drawn. On the other hand, Virat Kohli has been able to win only three matches in 10 Test matches. At the same time, former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has been able to win only 2 Test matches in 11 Test matches.

Double Century As Captain:-

He holds the record of Dhoni’s name, but apart from this, Dhoni is the only Indian captain who has scored a double century in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Dhoni had scored an inning of 224 against Australia in Chennai. This is the highest score made by any Indian captain.

So far this trophy has been organized 15 times between India and Australia. In which India has captured the series 9 times and Australia 5 times. There was a series draw between both the teams.
