AFG T20 WC 2022: Afghanistan announce 15-man squad for T20 World Cup Afghanistan has named their 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, starting 16 October in Australia.
Mohammad Nabi to lead Afghanistan:-
Mohammad Nabi, who led Afghanistan in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022, took over the captaincy again.

Samiullah Shinwari, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Afsar Zazai, Karim Janat, and Noor Ahmed, all of whom were part of the Asia Cup squad, missed out.
Meanwhile, middle-order batsman Darvesh Rasuli, all-rounder Kais Ahmed, and right-arm pacer Salim Safi have been added to the list.
Made his Debut in International Cricket:-
The 22-year-old Rasuli, who made his international debut earlier this year, made the cut after recovering from a finger injury and putting on an impressive performance in the Shapjiza Cricket League 2022.
Qais Ahmed returned to the squad, last playing T20Is against Afghanistan in March 2022, while the 20-year-old Safi has secured his first international call-up.
Chief selector Noor Malikzai said: “The Asia Cup was a great opportunity for the team to prepare things well for the very important global event in Australia.”
Has shown a good glimpse of him in the Shapeeja Cricket League 2022:-
“Luckily, Darvesh Rasuli has recovered from the injury (broken finger) and we are happy to have him available for WT20, he has shown a good showing in the previously held Shapeza Cricket League 2022 and has given our middle-order an extra batting line-up. Provides options. ,
“Since the Australian conditions provide more support for the fast bowlers, we have roped in right-arm pacer Salim Safi to add more pace to our bowling department.
Overall, we have picked our best available players for this event and we look forward to performing well among them and representing the country better in the mega event.”
