ICC T20 World Cup 2024: After 6 Years, Leaving His Country in International Cricket Will Return To USA. The USA Cricket team is gearing up for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which they will be co-hosting with the West Indies starting June 1st. As part of their preparations, they have announced a strong squad for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against Canada.
One of the most exciting additions to the team is Corey Anderson, a hard-hitting all-rounder from New Zealand. Anderson last played international cricket for New Zealand in 2018, but after shifting to the USA in 2020, he is now set to become an American international player.

The 33-year-old Anderson has been in impressive form in Minor League Cricket (MiLC), scoring 900 runs in 28 innings. He has also had success in Major League Cricket.
Anderson is not the only experienced player in the squad. Former India Under-19 player Harmeet Singh and former Delhi and RCB batsman Milind Kumar have also been included. Additionally, former Canada captain Nitish Kumar has joined the USA team.
However, there is one notable omission from the squad: Unmukt Chand. Chand has been a consistent performer in MiLC over the past three seasons, scoring over 1500 runs in 45 innings. His exclusion is a surprise and raises questions about his chances of playing in the World Cup for the USA.
The Road to the World Cup
Monank Patel will lead the team, with Aaron Jones as vice-captain. The team is a mix of experienced players and exciting youngsters, and they will be looking to make a strong impression in the upcoming series against Canada.
The World Cup is just around the corner, and the USA team will be hoping to put up a good show on home soil. With a strong squad and a positive attitude, they have the potential to surprise a few teams.
