Australia is confident that vice-captain Alyssa Healy will be fitting to return for the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on Thursday.

Healy finished Australia’s emphatic six-wicket win over South Africa in GKberha on Saturday with a quad concern, but according to the team management the injury was only minor.

Healed from a calf injury before the tournament:-

The veteran wicket-keeper batsman had recovered from a calf injury ahead of the tournament and according to star all-rounder Tahlia McGrath, the decision to rest her for the match against the Proteas was pure to provide her with some extra rest.

“With a serious calf injury and a very busy schedule, it was a precautionary measure,” McGrath said.

“We expect her to be fully fitting. And ready to go for us in the semi-finals.”
