AUS vs SL: Adam Zampa Set To Miss Out On WC Match After Testing Positive For Covid-19

Australia leg-spinner Adam Zampa is set to miss out on Australia’s T20 World Cup match win against Sri Lanka after testing positive for Covid-19.

Zampa Recently Tested Positive:-

A spokesman for the team confirmed that Zampa recently tested positive, but is displaying only minor symptoms.

Under the current rules set by the ICC and national authorities, COVID-positive players are allowed to participate,

It is however believed that Australia may opt for Ashton Agar’s selection according to Australia’s Herald Sun, who first reported the story.

The publication understands that despite Zampa’s mild symptoms, there are concerns in the Australian camp about the 30-year-old getting into action with his teammates.

Incidentally Played a role Against Sri Lanka:-

This is not the first time that Covid-19 has played a role in this year’s event, coincidentally with Ireland’s George Dockrell playing his team’s opening Super 12 encounter against Sri Lanka.

Dockrell was forcing to travel separately from his teammates. With the team’s medical staff managing his movements and interactions.

If Zampa were to be picking, he and Cricket Australia would have to operate under the same guidelines.
