A world-class Australia all-rounder won the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for December 2022.

Australia’s star and No.1 ranked all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner has capped off a stellar year by claiming the Women’s Player of the Month award for December 2022.

Gardner beat England youngster Charlie Dean and New Zealand opener Suzie Bates for the prestigious monthly award on the back of her impressive individual series against India last month.
The five-match series against India:-
The 25-year-old took the most wickets during the five-match series against India with seven sixes, while also scoring 115 runs at an average of over 50.
It was no surprise that Gardner was named Player of the Series for his exploits in India and made it a double celebration by receiving the monthly ICC award as a result.
The Played a key role in helping them win the Gold Medal
It’s been a tremendous 12 months for Gardner. As the talented all-rounder played a key role in helping Australia win gold at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. And then the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Gardner also rose to the top of the women’s all-rounder rankings to overtake. West Indies captain Hayley Matthews and become the world No. 1 player in that category by the end of the year.
