Australia Names The Same Team For The Commonwealth Games in Birmingham

Australia has named the same squad for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, giving injury updates on Ellyse Perry and others as Shelley Nitschke took the lead. As well as their T20I tri-series with Ireland and Pakistan.

Interim Head Coach Shelley Nitschke:-

The tri-series at Brady Cricket Club in Northern Ireland provided ideal preparation for Meg Lanning’s team under interim head coach Shelley Nitschke.

A key member of Australia’s staff, Nitschke stepped down after the departure of Matthew Mott, who takes over as England’s men’s white-ball coach.

Lanning’s side is also T20 World Cup champions. After a 50-over dominance in New Zealand. And come out of recent series victories in the format over rivals England and India.

Australia is likely to Play in the summer:-

Off the team, Tayla Vlaminck (knee) and Georgia Wareham (ankle) have continued to rehabilitate their injuries. Although both are unlikely to play for most of the Australian summer later this year.

Ellyse Perry has not fully recovered from a stress fracture in her lower back even after being selected for the team and is expecting to play as a full-time batsman on the tour. According to team physio Kate Birworth, his availability to bowl will “depend on his progress and medical advice in the coming weeks”.
