Australia postpone South Africa tour because of ‘unacceptable level’ of Covid-19 risk

Australia postpone the South Africa tour which scheduled to start in March, with Cricket Australia informing Cricket South Africa that the Covid-19 situation in South Africa has left it with “no choice” but to reschedule the tour.

it has become clear that traveling from Australia to South Africa at this current time poses an unacceptable level of health and safety risk to our players, support staff and community,” an official statement from Cricket Australia’s interim CEO Nick Hockley read on Tuesday (February 2).

“We acknowledge the significant amount of work by CSA in planning for the tour, during which we made it clear that CA was prepared to take on additional cost and effort to make the series happen”-said CA officials
