“I love Thunder and Thunder Nation, but at the same time, it is a change that comes at the right time.” It was not an easy decision, it was very difficult, but the timing feels right.

“I am now looking forward to joining them (Heat) to challenge them to try something new.” Khawaja will share the Heat’s captaincy with wicketkeeper Jimmy Pearson.

Queensland Cricket and Heat chief executive Terry Swenson said: “This will reflect the current situation within the Bulls set-up.

Thrilled to see her teal for the next step:-

“I am sure our fans have nothing but respect for what Usman has achieved in his game with the Thunder and will be thrilled to see him teal for this next phase of his career.
