BBL 2023: Sydney Sixers Bowling All-Rounder Sean Abbott Returns To Tournament in Style after his team’s confidence was let down in the first half of the tournament.

The economic rate of BBL careers is 8.50:-

In the first seven matches of KFC BBL|12, Abbott took 10 wickets but leaked runs, conceding 9.92 runs per over, slightly lower than his BBL career economy rate of 8.50.

Even more worrying for the Sydney Sixers was their performance with the ball in power surges.

The normally reliable Abbott conceded 55 runs in three surge overs, which resulted in him losing the job in favor of Hayden Kerr and Chris Jordan.

My Power surges haven’t been Great this Year:-

“My power surges haven’t been great this year,” admitted Abbott after a six-run win over the Scorchers. “CJ (Jordan) came in and bowled very well to him.

“I went and did some planning because I want to get better there because I’m obviously the senior bowler in the team and I’ve let people go there.

“Those are two crucial overs in the bowling innings and I’m nowhere near the mark.” The 30-year-old brings his return to form into action.

That’s how I felt in the last game against Thunder:-

“In the last game against the Thunder, I felt like I executed pretty close to the 24 balls I wanted,” Abbott told reporters.

Abbott’s four overs against the Thunder cost only nine runs, he conceded no boundaries and bowled 17 dot balls.

It was also the second most economical four-over spell in history by a Sydney sixer, behind only Ben Dwarshuis’s 3-7 in the BBL. 08.

The Sixers will travel to Coffs Harbor to take on the Adelaide Strikers on Tuesday night where Abbott is expecting a batsman-friendly wicket.

A win over the fourth-placed Strikers would at least temporarily send the Sixers to the top of the table.
