Ajinkya Rahane was a notable inclusion in the squad as Shreyas Iyer’s back injury
Veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane was a notable inclusion in the squad as Shreyas Iyer’s back injury opened a middle-order slot. Rahane drop from the Test side in 2022 but he had a decent Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season, in which he scored 600+ runs while leading Mumbai.
The squad also sees the back of KL Rahul, who was dropped from the last two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia earlier this year.
