BCCI President & Mayanti Langer: BCCI President Roger Binny and his daughter-in-law Mayanti Langer have got a big relief. Because Ethics Justice Officer Vineet Saran has rejected Sanjeev Gupta’s complaint. In which he was accused of a conflict of interest.

Roger Binny has recently become the President of BCCI. His son Stuart Binny’s wife Mayanti Langer works as an anchor for Star Sports, IPL, and India’s domestic matches. Sanjeev Gupta had complained about this alleging conflict of interest. Vineet Saran had given notice of a conflict of interest to Roger Binny and sought a written reply from Roger Binny to the allegations leveled against him by 20 December.

Vineet Saran’s letter says:

“You are hereby informed that a complaint has been received under Rule 39(2)(b) of the Rules and Regulations of BCCI by the Ethics Officer, BCCI. It is for breach of Rule 38 (1) (i) and Rule 38(2) of the said rules, constituting an instance of “conflict of interest” on your part.

“You are directed to file your Written Response to the accompanying complaint on or before 20/12/2022. The said response should supported by a duly executed affidavit,” wrote Saran in the notice dated November 21.

World Cup winner Binny had become the 36th BCCI president in October. He replaced former India captain Sourav Ganguly. The 67-year-old played 27 Tests and 72 ODIs for India.

This is not the first time that Sanjeev Gupta has leveled allegations of conflict

However, this is not the first time that Sanjeev Gupta was level allegations of conflict of interest against a BCCI office-bearer. In the past, Sourav Ganguly, Jay Shah, Arun Dhumal, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, VVS Laxman, and even Rahul Dravid have received such notices.
