BCCI’s Official Statement: Deepak and Shami are out of the South Africa tour. Giving an official update, BCCI said that Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the Test series, while Deepak Chahar has withdrawn his name from the ODI series.

Iyer Will Not Be Available in The ODI Against South Africa:-

BCCI has also announced the replacement of Deepak Chahar and also said that Shreyas Iyer will not be available in the second and third ODI against South Africa.

The board also told Rahul Dravid that he will not be with the team in the ODI series, he will focus on Test.

BCCI said in its official statement regarding Deepak Chahar, “Deepak Chahar has informed BCCI that he will not be available for the upcoming ODI series due to a family medical emergency. The selection committee has included Akash Deep in the ODI squad as his replacement.

Mohammed Shami is Out Of The Test Series:-

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the Test series due to injury, he is not completely fit. “Mohammed Shami, whose participation in the Test series was dependent on fitness, has not been cleared by the BCCI medical team and the fast bowler has been ruled out of the two Test matches,” BCCI said in its statement.

Shreyas Iyer is included in the Test squad, and Rahul Dravid will not be available in the ODI series. Indian batsman Shreyas was in the ODI squad against South Africa but BCCI said in its statement that he will not be available in the second and third ODIs.

He Will Not Be Available For The Second And Third ODI:-

The board’s official said, “After the conclusion of the first ODI in Johannesburg on December 17, Shreyas Iyer will join the Test team to prepare for the Test series. He will not be available for the second and third ODIs and will take part in the inter-squad game.”

Indian Men’s Cricket Team Head Coach Rahul Dravid, Batting Coach Mr. Vikram Rathore, Bowling Coach Mr. Paras Mhambrey, and Fielding Coach Mr. T. Dilip will join the Test team and oversee their preparations for the inter-squad games and Tests.

The ODI team will be assisted by the India A coaching staff which includes batting coach Mr. Sitanshu Kotak, bowling coach Mr. Rajib Dutta, and fielding coach Mr. Ajay Ratra.
