Laxmi’s Yet To Make Her Debut For The Team
Laxmi is a wicket-keeper batter who’s also played for the India A women’s team. Remember how UP Warriors snapped her up for ₹10 lakh at the WPL’s first auction? Well, she’s yet to make her debut for the team.
That’s because UP Warriors has the world-class wicket-keeper batter Alyssa Healy as their captain. With Healy behind the stumps, Laxmi hasn’t gotten her chance to shine in the WPL just yet.
But Laxmi Isn’t Someone Who Gives Up Easily!
This 26-year-old is a powerhouse behind the wicket and packs a punch with the bat too. In the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy, she impressed everyone with 156 runs in just 6 matches.
Her strike rate of 106.84 and an average of over 31 speaks volumes about her ability to score quickly and consistently. She even smashed a brilliant 46 in an Inter Zone T20 tournament!
Laxmi comes from a humble background; her father works in a private company. She trained under Sanjay Nagar and even captained the Delhi Under-23 team.
