Chris Jordan Set To Play in England Semi-Finals Due To Doubts Over Mark Wood’s Fitness
IND vs END Semi-Final 2022: Chris Jordan is set to play in England’s semi-finals due to doubts over Mark Wood’s fitness. Jordan is set to play in England’s T20 World Cup semi-final against India in Adelaide on Thursday night after doubts emerged over Wood’s fitness.

Wood has been making a revelation for England in T20Is since his return to international cricket in Pakistan following an elbow injury.

He has consistently bowled above 90mph/145kph throughout the World Cup in Australia, taking nine wickets in the process with an economy rate of 7.71.
Jordan has played only one competitive game since recovering from a finger injury in the Hundred, taking 0 for 39 in three overs against Australia in Canberra last month.

But he is a highly experienced T20 bowler. If selected, he will provide a substitute for Jos Buttler along with Sam Curran, while he is also England’s best fielder.
Phil Salt is also likely to make his debut in the tournament. With David Malan struggling to recover from a groin strain sustained during England’s win against Sri Lanka.
Salt is expected to come in at No 3 but could slide down the order if England starts well, keeping in mind the flexible batting order they have used throughout the World Cup.
He is unlikely to play against India:-
But he has barely bowled due to minor injuries in England’s two training sessions at the Adelaide Oval this week. And ESPNcricinfo knows he is unlikely to play against India as a result. The England camp described the injury as a muscle stiffness.
Both Jordan and Salt have experience with the dimensions of the Adelaide Oval – short square boundaries, long straights – having played for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash.
Salt has played 16 innings at an average of 26.66 with a strike rate of 147.60. While Jordan has taken seven wickets in his four matches there at an economy rate of 9.14 per over.

England has named only one team in the entire World Cup. They have four unused squad members in Jordan, Salt, Willie, and Tymal Mills, while Liam Dawson, and Luke Wood. And Richard Gleason has stayed with the group as traveling reserves.
