Australian opener Chris Lynn will not participate in the upcoming season of the Big Bash League (BBL). He has tied up with the International League T20 to be held in the UAE, which will be organized at the time of BBL and for this reason, Chris Lynn will not be able to play in his country’s domestic tournament this time. This will be the first time in 11 years that Lynn will not be a part of the BBL.
Chris Lynn was released by Brisbane Heat ahead of the upcoming season. He was a part of the team for 11 years. Chances of him joining the Adelaide Strikers team were being raised. Lynn did not perform as well for Brisbane in the 2021-22 season. He scored only 215 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 125. This was the reason Brisbane finished seventh in the heat points table.
Now there are reports that
he will play in the UAE’s International League T20, which can be organized in January. It is being said that the UAE T20 League T20 has released a list of 54 such cricketers who want to be a part of this league. Players will be distributed to all six teams through drafts.
David Warner will not be part of UAE League T20
Earlier there were also reports that David Warner would also play in the UAE League T20. However, now he is more likely to play in the BBL. David Warner has not signed a contract with any team in the BBL yet. He was to play international matches for Australia but South Africa has canceled its ODI series against Australia. In such a situation, David Warner will now be available for franchise cricket at that time.
Warner’s manager told the Sydney Morning Herald that talks are underway between Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricket Association to bring Warner to the BBL.
