Cricket Australia announces 23 member preliminary Squad for white-ball tour of West Indies

Australia and West Indies will play five T20I matches in St Lucia and three One Day Internationals matches in Barbados in July 2021

Batsman Marnus Labuschagne will not play in Australia’s limited-overs bilateral series in the West Indies as his name has not been included in the preliminary list of 23 players to be toured by Cricket Australia (CA) on Monday.

National selector Trevor Hohns said he had to drop out of the team due to the logistical complications of bringing Marnus Labuschagne out of England. Labuschagne is currently playing for Glamorgan at the county championships.

Trevor Hohns stated, “If we had not been in the midst of a global epidemic, Marnus would have been on this tour with the team as a well-established member and an important member of the ODI team. It is an unfortunate situation in which the world is currently Is facing many challenges. “
