IPL 2023: CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni told when he will retire from IPL. It seems Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has played his last match at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata.

Dhoni will be happy on Sunday as his team beat Shah Rukh Khan-owned Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 49 runs to top the IPL 2023 points table.

Batting first after losing the toss, Chennai scored 235 runs at the loss of 4 wickets, in response Kolkata could score 186 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.

In this match held on Sunday, all the fans came wearing yellow jerseys. The entire stadium was packed with yellow jersey fans.

Supporting the visiting team instead of the home team:-

It was a wonderful sight to see the visiting team supporting the visiting team instead of their home team.

When Dhoni came for the presentation after the match win at the historic ground of Eden Gardens, he first thanked the Kolkata fans for their immense support in today’s match.

Dhoni said, thank you all for your support. Today fans thronged the ground in large numbers to support KKR by wearing their jerseys the next time they play here.

I know they will support him but this is an occasion when he wants to bid me farewell and has come wearing the yellow jersey.

Dhoni was all praise for his bowlers as they executed the plans well despite the boundary being short on one side.

“The fast bowlers are doing their job, and so are the spinners in the middle. The wicket was small on one side so we needed to take quick wickets and keep the pressure on. They’ve got a lot of power hitters, so we had to respect the opposition.”
