DP World ILT20 2023: UAE’s Muhammed Waseem’s Brilliant Knock Puts MI Emirates Ahead Of Sharjah Warriors.
DP World ILT20 at Cricket Stadium:-
UAE’s Waseem displayed his wide repertoire of aggressive strokes as he smashed a scintillating 71 to guide MI Emirates to a 49-run win over Sharjah Warriors in the second match of the DP World ILT20 at the Zayed Cricket Stadium on Saturday night.

They were helped by Nicholas Pooran’s 49 as MI Emirates posted a mammoth score of 204 for 5 in 20 overs.
Muhammed, who has been a consistent performer in the franchise league matches and for the UAE team, made the home fans proud with his 39-ball innings studded with five fours and four sixes. Puran scored 49 runs in 30 balls with the help of four sixes and two fours.
Sharjah Warriors came under pressure from MI Emirates huge score. He chose bowling after winning the toss. Opening with England’s Will Smeed, Waseem hit back-to-back boundaries off second-over bowler Naveen-ul-Haq.

Waseem also hits the first ball of the third over from Chris Woakes across the square leg for another boundary. On the third ball of that over, Woakes had Smead caught on the top edge by wicket-keeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz for 2 runs.
Andre Fletcher joined Waseem and hit UAE’s Junaid Siddiqui for a six-over mid-wicket off the fifth ball of the fourth over.
39 runs were scored in the first five overs. Fletcher accelerated the run flow in the sixth over hitting Siddiqui for three consecutive fours. It also took the score past the 50-run mark.
Muhammed also hit Karthik Meiyappan of UAE for a six. Woakes took his second wicket, forcing Fletcher to dismiss wicketkeeper Gurbaz for 22. The pair added 47 runs for the second wicket.

Imran took three wickets and bowled very well for MI Emirates. His performance made a big difference in the game. We have another game tomorrow at a different venue so we have to adapt quickly.
