ECB: The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday (February 23) confirmed that Delhi-based GMR Group has acquired the franchise in the soon-to-be-launched UAE T20 league.

The Infrastructure Powerhouse:-

“The Indian-based infrastructure powerhouse, GMR Group was acquiring the ownership. And operation of the Dubai franchise in the UAE T20 League to be holding in the UAE.” The ECB said. GMR Group is a co-owner of Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

GM Rao, Group Chairman, GMR Group, said: “Our team has 14 seasons of experience in managing. The franchise process through the participation of our Delhi Capitals team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). And we are looking to integrate these same elements.

Chairman Kiran Kumar Granthi said:-

Kiran Kumar Granthi, Corporate Chairman, GMR Group, said: “Building on our years of experience in the IPL. We will use this to create an enriching cricketing environment for budding players that will excite cricket fans infinitely.”

The ECB has also said that the league is well on track to be playing this year. In addition to the struggle to find a suitable window for what it calls the premier professional T20 league.

Other owners of the league are Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, Shah Rukh Khan. The Glazer family, and Rajesh Sharma, a Dubai-based industrialist. Efforts are making to organize the tournament in June-July.
