ENG vs IRE: England’s playing 11 announced for Ireland Test, this bowler thinking of retirement got a chance. England has announced their playing 11 for the one-off Test match against Ireland.
In this Test match being played before the Ashes, the team would like to test its players. In this team, uncapped player Josh Tong has been given a chance to debut in bowling. At the same time, many experienced bowlers have been rested.
Wood and Woakes did not get a place:-
The surprising thing in England’s playing 11 is that the team’s two experienced bowlers Mark Wood and Chris Woakes were available but they have not been given a place.

Josh Tongue was once thinking of retirement
Tongue, making his debut for England, has done well in domestic cricket. However, due to injury, he was away from cricket for a long time.
Josh Tongue suffers from thoracic outlet syndrome in which the nerves in his shoulder get compressed. Due to this, he had to undergo two operations and several injections. At one time he had also planned for retirement. However, he persevered and has now been given a place in the team.
