ENG vs NZ 1st Test: England have registered a resounding victory in the first match of the three-Test series against New Zealand. They beat New Zealand by five wickets on the fourth day of the Lord’s Test on Sunday, June 5.

Despite those poor performances in the first innings, England made a great comeback in the second innings :-

Joe Root β€˜s century: After batting poorly in the first innings, the English team made a spectacular comeback in the second innings and achieved the difficult target of 277 runs. For him, the hero of the Test was former captain Joe Root. Root scored an unbeaten 115 in the second innings. This is the 26th century of Root’s career.

ENG vs NZ 1st Test: New Zealand had batted first after winning the toss :-

Batting first after winning the toss, New Zealand scored 132 runs. At the same time, England’s first innings was reduced to 141 runs. England took a nine-run lead in the first innings. Joe Root made 11 runs in first innings.

New Zealand scored 285 runs in the second innings, taking a lead of 276 runs. Chasing the target of 277 runs, the England team scored 279 for five in the second innings.

After the fall of five wickets, Joe Root got the support of Ben Foakes :-

At one point England’s 159 for five had fallen. From there Joe Root got the support of wicket-keeper batsman Ben Foakes. Both shared an unbeaten partnership of 150 runs for the sixth wicket. This partnership took away the match from New Zealand. Fox remained unbeaten on 32 off 92 balls.
