Mitchell scored a century in every match of this series and gave his team a chance to fight, but the rest of the New Zealand batsmen could not help him. For this reason, this team could not even draw any match.
New Zealand’s team, which defeated England by a 2-0 margin at home last year, could not do much in this tour. In two practice matches too, he had to face defeat in one. After this, New Zealand lost in all three matches.

The entire team of New Zealand may have been a flop in this series, but Daryl Mitchell batted brilliantly. Mitchell was the highest run-scorer in this series. He scored 538 runs in six innings of three matches at an average of 107.60. His strike rate was 50.42.
During this, his bat hit 60 fours and eight sixes. Mitchell’s excellent form can be gauged from the fact that Joe Root, the second most successful batsman of this series, was 142 runs behind him in terms of runs.

Mitchell has scored a total of four centuries in his Test career and three of these centuries have come in this series. During this, he also equaled the great Australian batsman Don Bradman.
Daryl Mitchell became the first batsman to do so in 92 years :-
Mitchell played an innings of 108 runs in this series in the Lord’s Test. He then scored 190 runs at Trent Bridge and 109 at Headingley. Along with scoring a century in all three matches, he made a special record in his name.
Daryl Mitchell is only the second overseas batsman to have scored a century in the first three matches of a Test series in England. He is also the first Kiwi batsman to do so.

Before him, Don Bradman did this in 1930. Mitchell is the first player from New Zealand to score a century in three consecutive Tests in England.
