Emily Arlott has been ruled out of England Women’s LV= Insurance Test match against South Africa, and has been replaced in the squad by Issy Wong.

Uncapped pacer Issie Wong has been upgraded from the reserve list and named in the 13-player squad for the four-day clash.

Which starts in Taunton on Monday and is in contention to claim the places left vacant by recently retired pair Anya Shrubsole and Katherine Brunt.

Wong is one of a group of players who could earn Test debuts along with fellow seamers Freya Davis and Lauren Bell, batsman Emma Lamb and all-rounder Ellis Davidson-Richards, all with a chance to earn the first cap and capture the Proteas. Get.

Once again leading a revamped team:-

Veteran captain Heather Knight will once again lead a revamped side with star spinner Sophie Ecclestone and leading batsman Nat Sciver expected to play a key role in England’s chances during the match.

England played their only Test draw against Australia earlier this year, while South Africa has not played a red ball since their return against India in 2014.

After the one-off Test in Taunton, England will host South Africa in three ODIs and three T20Is in July.
