What Did Root Say About The Award?

Super happy about the award, Root said, “When you play for a while and gain experience, like I have, you understand the responsibility. You want to give back to the sport and encourage young boys and girls to take up cricket. Not just on the field, but to share the experiences cricket has given me off the field too.”

Root’s message to upcoming cricketers?

“It might sound negative,” Root said, “but cricket is a game of failures. Being able to accept those failures and understand they’re part of the game is what allows you to learn, grow, and become a better player.”
