ENGW vs AUSW 2023: ENGW Announces 15-Player Squad For Women’s Ashes Test Against Australia. Western Storm players Lauren Filler and Danielle Gibson are the two uncapped faces named in England’s 15-man women’s Test squad for the upcoming home Ashes series.

Women’s Ashes 2023 to be a multi-format series:-

The Women’s Ashes 2023 will be a multi-format series comprising a one-off Test, three T20Is, and three ODIs. Tests carry four points, while T20Is and ODIs carry two points each.

The squad, to be led by Heather Knight, includes medium pacer Filler and all-rounder Gibson. Filer has been the top performer with the ball for his home outfit, the Western Storm, in his last two campaigns.

Gibson, on the other hand, has been his side’s highest wicket-taker in this season’s Charlotte Edwards Cup. She was also a traveling reserve with the England squad in this year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

England head coach John Lewis was upbeat about the upcoming series and talked about his new recruits.

England would later make their Ashes debut with a one-off Test on 22 June. This will be followed by T20I and ODI series respectively.

The upcoming Test match at Trent Bridge will be England Women’s first five-day competition at home.

  • 1st ODI, July 12, Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol
  • 2nd ODI July 16, Ageas Bowl, Southampton
