Bangladesh T20 World Cup: Bangladesh has included Soumya Sarkar and Shorful Islam in place of Mohammad Saifuddin and Sabbir Rahman in their T20 World Cup squad.

All four members are part of that team

All four members were part of the team that played the recently concluded tri-series in New Zealand. However, Bangladesh lost all four matches. Despite the defeat, his technical advisor Sridharan Sriram insisted there were positives.

Soumya’s strike rate:

Soumya has not been picked for Bangladesh in any format since his poor performance in last year’s T20 World Cup. During this break, he scored 164 runs in the last season’s BPL at a strike rate of 109.33.

Soumya and Shorful’s inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad was justified in their performance. They were slightly better than the other two who will now be back home from Christchurch.

Bangladesh will go to Brisbane on Saturday

Bangladesh will travel to Brisbane on Saturday where they will take on Afghanistan (October 17) and South Africa (October 19) in two warm-up matches. Their T20 World Cup campaign will begin with a match against one of the first-round qualifiers in Hobart on 24 October.
