Former Australia Shelley Nitschke To Take Over As Women’s Head Coach On Full-Time Basis

Former Australia Shelley Nitschke will take on the role of women’s head coach on a full-time basis. Nitschke is recently filling in for the late Matthew Mott.

Gave the Australians Their first Gold Medal:-

At the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham last month, the mighty gave Australians their first gold medal.

The 45-year-old has been given a four-year term and will continue in her role ahead of next year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

“I am honored that I have been given the opportunity to lead the team full-time and continue to build on the legacy created by Matthew Mott,” Nitschke said.

A New Era with the Retirement of Rachael Haynes:-

“While I enjoyed my time working as an assistant coach, I look forward to leading this group that is shaping up to be a new era and a new era with the retirement of Rachel Haynes. The time to grow is right.

“Rauch’s loss will undoubtedly be felt, but it presents a great opportunity for others to put their hands up with the bat and the field from a leadership standpoint as well.

Ensuring that the team continues to Grow:-

“Our challenge is to ensure that the team continues to grow; we have seen teams like India take their game to the next level.

It is important that players feel they have the support they need to get better every day.

“Our team continues to grow stronger and I am excited to see what this group can accomplish next.
