During this, Shastri said that Dravid should be given enough time before pointing fingers. He also said that India won two Asia Cups during my tenure but no one remembers.

Rahul Dravid became the head coach of the Indian cricket team in November 2021. During that time he had replaced Ravi Shastri, and it was expected that under his coaching India would win the ICC trophy and end years of drought.

But this has not happened yet. At the same time, it was also expected from him that apart from multi-nation tournaments, India would also get success on foreign soil.

Dravid’s 16-month tenure has been a disappointment so far, after which questions are being raised about his coaching. In such a situation, Ravi Shastri has come to his rescue.

Shastri said while talking to Sports Tak:-

While talking to Sports Tak, former head coach Ravi Shastri said, “It takes time, I also took time. However, he has an advantage that he was in the NCA.

He was also with the India A team and now he is with the senior team. He is experienced with contemporary cricket players and systems, so give him time.”

Shastri further said that the memory of the people in our country is weak. If you want to win, you have to win. I won two Asia Cups during my tenure, but nobody remembers.

Has anyone mentioned the Asia Cup during this? We’ve won it twice, nobody even talks about it. Whereas when we lose the Asia Cup, the picture of the tournament comes to the fore.

India lost in 16 months under Rahul Dravid’s coaching:-

• It has been 16 months since Rahul Dravid became the coach of the Indian team.
• He was appointed India’s head coach after the 2021 T20 World Cup.
• Under his coaching, India had to face defeat in Asia Cup, T20 World Cup 2022.
• Also, India had to lose the Test and ODI series against South Africa in December 2022 and January 2023.
• At the same time, Team India had to face defeat in the rescheduled Edgbaston Test against England.
