During His Seven-Year Tenure:-

Shastri pointed out that he was never invited to the Team India selection committee meeting during his seven-year stint with the Indian cricket team.

Shastri called for changes in the selection process and said that the head coach should be allowed to attend the meetings.

Even if he doesn’t vote so he knows what the selectors are thinking and planning.

Shastri also revealed that many people who attended the recent meetings were not allowed to attend.

Ravi reveals why he was not invited to the selection meeting:-

Shastri told ESPN Cricinfo, “I have zero direct experience [of attending selection meetings]. Ravi was a part of the team for seven years.

I never went to the selection meeting. Shastri wasn’t invited either. I think in the long run, yes a coach should be invited.”
