Former Indian Cricketer VVS Laxman is Celebrating His 47th Birthday Today

Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman is celebrating his 47th birthday today, his full name is Vangipurpu Venkata Sai Laxman. VVS was born on 1 November 1974 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana), India. is a former Indian international cricketer and a former cricket commentator and pundit.

Laxman is known to play his brilliant strokes:-

A right-handed batsman, known for his brilliant stroke play, Laxman played in Test cricket as a middle-order batsman.

Laxman is currently the Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), and the head coach of the India Under-19 and India A teams.

Laxman is one of the few players to have played 100 Test matches without ever appearing in the One-Day Cricket World Cup.

Despite being a relatively slow runner between the wickets. Laxman compensated with his stroke play and quick scoring. In 2002, he was named one of Wisden’s five cricketers of the year.

He also played for Lancashire in county cricket:-

VVS played for the Kochi Tuskers team. He was the mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad till 2021. He is called the ‘God of the fourth innings’ for his exploits.

In 2011, Laxman was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award. Laxman retired from international cricket in 2012.

VVS’s Personal Life:-

Laxman was born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (present-day Telangana). Laxman’s parents are Dr. Shantaram and Dr. Satyabhama, a well-known physician from Vijayawada. Laxman is the great-grandson of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India.

VVS studied at Little Flower High School, Hyderabad. He enrolled in a medical school for his graduation, and Laxman chose cricket as a career.

He joined G.R. from Guntur on 16 February 2004. Shailja is a computer application graduate. They have two children – a son, Sarvjeet, and a daughter, Achintya.
