Former West Indies and Northern Districts batsman Bruce Pairaudeau Passed Away at the age of 91. Born in British Guiana in 1931, Pairaudeau played 13 Tests for the West Indies between 1953 and 1957 alongside Frank Worrell, Everton Weeks, and Alf Valentine.
He fell in love with New Zealand while on a tour of the country in 1956. After emigrating to New Zealand, he captained the Northern Districts to their first Plunkett Shield title in 1962–63, before retiring from domestic cricket in 1966–67.

Bruce made his debut for Guyana in 1947 at the age of 15 and scored his first century the following season.
He then scored a century on his Test debut against India at Port of Spain in 1953, but only came in double digits six times in the next 20 innings. He scored a total of 454 runs in 13 test matches at an average of 21.61.
More recently in 2015, Piroudeau and his friend traveled from Hamilton to Napier to see the West Indies team train.
West Indies media Philip Spooner said, “We heard the voice of the West Indies and when I saw who it was, I thought it might be Bruce Pairaudeau.
We knew he lived in New Zealand, but we didn’t know he was coming.” “Everybody loved meeting him,” the manager told ESPNcricinfo at the time.

Pairaudeau is survived by his son Jeffrey and three grandchildren.
