BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is unhappy with Powar being appointed as the Indian women cricket team’s coach in place of WV Raman

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly, has expressed displeasure over WV Raman not being retained as the coach of the Indian women’s cricket team.

According to the report of cricket website Cricbuzz, Ganguly has officially expressed his displeasure over the matter. In fact, former Indian batsman WV Raman was not retained by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) as the coach of the women’s team and Ramesh Powar has been replaced as the new coach of the team.

Ganguly did not say anything about Powar’s selection, but the BCCI president expressed surprise that the coach under whose leadership the team reached the final of the global tournament (T20 World Cup) was not retained. There were reports that some senior players of the team had complained to the CAC about Raman, but the President of BCCI believes that Raman should have been retained.

India made it to the finals of the T20 World Cup in 2020, but they had to face defeat in the title match against Australia. However, the Indian women’s team suffered a severe defeat in the home series against South Africa in March this year

After which Coach Raman was criticized a lot. Those involved in women’s cricket said that Ganguly should respect the decision of the CAC. Ganguly should know that CAC is an independent institution.

Raman was complained by some senior Women players of the team but the The Board of Control for Cricket in India president believes that Raman should have retained the post.
