Gautam Gambhir said about Suryakumar Yadav playing in the Test format

Team India’s star batsman Suryakumar Yadav is in excellent form. He performed amazingly in the current year and has scored the most runs in the T20 International format. Now many veterans have advised him to play Test cricket. He himself has also accepted that soon he may be called to play in the longer format of cricket. Meanwhile, former Team India opener Gautam Gambhir also said that Surya should get a chance in the Test because of one quality.

Suryakumar Yadav bat did not work in the first ODI

New Zealand has made a 1-0 lead in the ODI series being played by its host. The Indian team had to face a crushing defeat by 7 wickets in the first ODI of the series played in Auckland. India scored 306 runs for 7 wickets, after which New Zealand achieved the target in 47.1 overs after losing 3 wickets. Tom Latham scored an unbeaten 145 off 104 balls and was adjudged man of the match. Suryakumar Yadav’s bat did not work in this match and he could score only 4 runs.

‘Test needs players like Surya’

Meanwhile, former veteran opener Gautam Gambhir said, “Why not play… I tell why he should play in Tests.” I believe that unorthodox and unorthodox players are the first choice for cricket. This is the quality of Surya. During the World Cup, former Team India coach Ravi Shastri also described Suryakumar Yadav as a player of all three formats.

Suryakumar Yadav, 32, has so far played 14 ODIs and 42 T20 matches for India. He has scored a total of 1408 runs in T20 with the help of two centuries and 12 half-centuries. In the ODI format, 344 runs have come out of his bat with the help of 2 half-centuries.
