Universe boss Chris Gayle returns to his old team St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots in Caribbean Premier League 2021 (CPL 2021)

Chris Gayle will return to this year’s edition of one of his old teams, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, after being ruled out of the CPL (Caribbean Premier League) 2020 due to personal reasons.
The franchise has confirmed this with its social media handle. This is not the first time Gayle has decided to return to the team he has represented earlier. The T20 player has played four seasons of the CPL for his home franchise Jamaica Tallawahs and picked up two titles with Jamaica Tallawahs While Gayle played the final for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2017 before returning to Tallawahs. He had scored a century against the Patriots then, but after that, he was out of form. The Jamaica Tallawahs ranked last as a result.

Gayle is understood to have left Jamaica Tallawahs in a rude manner before the 2020 season and publicly blamed head coach Ramnaresh Sarwan. Gayle is considered to be a must for the Patriots as the team finished last in the 2020 edition winning only one of 10 matches. Gayle faded in the recent IPL season
