Ben Stokes made this stormy plan :-

Stokes himself has planned to bat at six and is hoping that England’s recently underpowered batsmen will do well by scoring runs in the first Test against the Kiwis at Lord’s on June 2. He said, ‘Now I feel that instead of talking about Durham’s score, I have to see who is scoring. At the same time, now I have to participate in a lot more county matches.

Recently Root has left the captaincy :-

Joe Root batted at number three during England’s most recent Test series against the West Indies in the Caribbean; but has a better record for his country at fourth. The former England captain has an impressive average of 51.27 when batting at number four, which is his average (39.67) when batting at three.
