WTC Final 2023: ICC Had To Make Two Pitches To Save The WTC Final Match From Cancellation. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has to make two pitches for the World Test Championship Final (WTC Final 2023) between India and Australia (IND vs AUS).

Threatened To Damage The Grounds:-

Demonstrations related to the oil industry are currently taking place in England. The protesters had threatened to damage the pitch and ground during the match.

Keeping this threat in mind, security has been increased at the Kennington Oval cricket ground. The ICC has also made changes to its Clause 6.4 of the Playing Conditions Laws to allow for alternative pitches, according to an ICC source.

The ICC has included a new clause (6.4) in the playing conditions. According to this, if there is any disturbance regarding the pitch, then they will assess the pitch and see whether it is in good condition to play or not.

It will be decided after looking at the condition of the second Pitch:-

If it is in good condition, they will continue to play on the same, and if not then the condition of the other pitch will decide whether to play on the other pitch or not.

The captains of both the teams have been taken into confidence. If both agree to play after the pitch has deteriorated, the ICC will go ahead with it and if not, the match may be called off.

The WTC Finals will take place from 7 June to 11 June at The Oval, London, starting at 3 pm. A reserve day has also been kept in case the match is interrupted due to weather.
