ICC ODI Rankings 2023: Pakistan Overtakes India in ICC ODI Rankings. In the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) team rankings, Australia has retained its No. 1 spot in the ODI team rankings.

Pakistan has moved up one place to the second position and India is now at the third position in the table.

Before the annual ranking update, Australia was at the top with 113 points, while India was behind on decimal points.

Earlier this month, Pakistan briefly climbed to the top following their victory in the fourth ODI against New Zealand.

Pakistan reached number 1 this week

Pakistan’s team reached first place in the ICC ODI rankings this week. In fact, before the start of the ODI series against New Zealand, the Pakistan team was in fifth place in the ODI rankings.

After this, as soon as the Pakistan cricket team made a 4-0 lead in the series against New Zealand, it reached number one from fifth position.

Pakistan’s team reached number one in the ODI rankings for the first time in history. At the same time, the Kiwi team had reached number five from number three. But New Zealand defeated Pakistan in the fifth ODI.

Pakistan could still remain at the top of the rankings after the annual update after winning the fifth and final ODI against New Zealand to make a 5-0 clean sweep.

“Australia have retained their top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings following a drop in results for the 2019-20 season and all matches completed since May 2020,” the ICC said in a press release.

As a result, Pakistan has now overtaken India to take the second position. India lost 2-1 at home against Australia in March this year.
