International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the winners of ICC player of the Month for April 2021
The nomination was given for Best Performance by both male and female cricketers of the month of April 2021 including all formats.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has declared Pakistan captain Babar Azam ICC Player of the Month as the best player of the month of April. Babar recently performed brilliantly against South Africa in all formats.
Babar had scored 228 runs in three ODIs during this period, while he scored 305 runs in 7 T20Is. He also became number one in ODIs. Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by an innings and 147 runs in the second Test on Monday to win the two-match Test series 2–0. Babar’s performance in this series was disappointing. Babar could only score 2 runs in the first innings while Pakistan did not bat in the second innings.
Another Pakistan Cricketer Fakhar Zaman and Kushal Bhurtel of Nepal Cricke were also nominated for ICC Player of the Month of April 2021, but Babar Azam won the award.
Among the women, Australian opener Alyssa Healy was named the ICC Women player of the month of April.
Haley’s continuity with the bat has been an important part of Australia’s domination. Healy played three ODIs against New Zealand, scoring 155 runs at an average of 51.66 and a strike rate of 98.72. Her efforts take her as the leading run-scorer in Australia’s series win over New Zealand, extending her record win streak to 24 ODIs.
Australian bowler Megan Schutt and New Zealand bowler Leigh Kasperek were also nominated for ICC Women Player of the Month of April 2021, but Alyssa Healy won the award.
3 Indians have won this award so far
The first ICC Player of the Month Award was won by Team India veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. After this, the wicketkeepers of the Indian team Rishabh Pant and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were successful in winning this award.
