ICC Player of the Month: Shreyas Iyer has been named ICC Player of the Month, India batsman Shreyas Iyer and New Zealand’s star all-rounder Amelia Kerr have been named ICC Player of the Month for February 2022.

Iyer has been performing consistently since last month. He played his bat fiercely against West Indies and Sri Lanka.

He scored 80 runs in 111 balls in the third ODI against West Indies. During this, he also hit 8 excellent fours. Apart from this, in the last T20, he played an innings of 25 runs in 16 balls.

The Excellent Performance in T20 Series:-

ICC Player of the Month: After this, Iyer came to bat at number three in three T20 matches against Sri Lanka. During this, he gave a splendid performance.

In the first T20 against Sri Lanka, he scored an unbeaten 57 off 28 balls. In the second T20, he scored an unbeaten 74 off 44 balls.

He scored an unbeaten 73 off 45 balls in the third T20I against Sri Lanka. Iyer was adjudged Player of the Series for his excellent performance.

Shreyas was Adjudging Player of The Match:-

In the T20 series against Sri Lanka, Shreyas Iyer scored 204 runs at a strike rate of around 174. Due to his impressive performance, he has jumped 27 places to 18th position in the ICC Men’s T20 International Player Rankings.

Former Sri Lanka batsman and member of the voting panel Russell Arnold heaped praise on Shreyas Iyer. He said that- Shreya showed tremendous consistency and restraint throughout the month.

Iyer has Plenty of Restraint:-

Shreyas Iyer named ICC Player of the Month: Arnold said that he completely dominated the opposition bowlers and proved to be very difficult to bowl.

Scored runs around the wicket and attacked the bowlers at the right time. What really stood out for me was his restraint as he fights for a regular spot in the India line-up.
