Babar Azam of Pakistan played an important innings of 74 runs against the Netherlands and led his team to victory. Thanks to this innings, he has further strengthened his position at the first position. Babar has 891 rating points, while second-ranked Imam-ul-Haq has 800 rating points.

Babar is on the first position before 16 months

Babar Azam had surpassed India’s Virat Kohli in the month of April last year to top the rankings for batsmen in ODIs. Since then he has remained in the first place. He now has a 91 rating point lead over second-ranked Imam-ul-Haq and looks almost certain to continue at the top spot for a long time. Babar remains the world’s number one batsman in T20 as well. However, New Zealand opener Devon Conway has made a stellar performance to make it to the seventh position.

Conway scored 106 runs in the series against West Indies and was the second highest run-scorer. Mitchell Santner has gained in the bowlers’ rankings in T20s and has moved up nine places to the eighth position. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood remains in the first place. He has also benefited in the ranking of bowlers in ODIs and has come to the third place. Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi could not play the first match against the Netherlands and has slipped two places to the fifth position.
