Why and how Australia’s 15 points were deducted

According to the latest update on the ICC website, with 3690 points and 115 ratings, India appeared in the number one position. Australia slipped to number two, showing 111 points. As soon as it went viral, a wave of happiness ran on social media, along with it a question also arose as to why and how Australia deducted 15 points without any major defeat.

Australia had not lost such a big series that it would have been deducted 15 points

In Rohit’s absence, Lokesh Rahul captained the Test series against Bangladesh. Team India defeated Bangladesh in both matches. India won the first match by 188 runs and the second Test by 3 wickets. However, it was still difficult for India to become number 1 because Australia had not lost such a big series that it would have deducted 15 points. In the midst of these questions, the ICC rectified its big mistake, and after being number 1 for half an hour, India came back to second place.
