ICC Test Rankings: Marnus Labuschagne equals Virat Kohli in Test ratings, and Steve Smith gets second place.

In-form Australia star Marnus Labuschagne has become the new No. 1 Test batsman in the world, equaling India’s Virat Kohli on the all-time list and leading the MRF Tires ICC Men’s Test Batting Has increased the ranking (MRF ICC Men’s Test Ranking).

Labuschagne only claimed the top ranking from England’s Joe Root earlier this month, but the 28-year-old has moved up to the top of the list for Test batsmen after an outstanding series against the West Indies.
The right-handed batsman took his tally to 502 runs for the two-match series with his brilliant 163 during the first innings of the second Test in Adelaide helping Labuschagne join Kohli on a career-high rating of 937 points.
Labuschagne is now equal to the 11th best Test rating of all time and only three Australian players – Donald Bradman (961), Steve Smith (947) and Ricky Ponting (942) – have achieved a better rating.
Viv Richards and Sri Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara:-
There are now only four players ahead of Labuschagne who are just one rating point ahead of him on 938 rating points. Among them are the West Indies trio of Garry Sobers, Clyde Walcott and Viv Richards and the Sri Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara.
Labuschagne is not the only Australian player with a career-high rating following the series against the West Indies.
Left-handed Travis Head has improved seven places in the Test batsman rankings and is sixth overall and has a personal best 774 rating points.
Head took the lead on his own century against the West Indies in Adelaide and the 28-year-old could look to leapfrog even higher during the upcoming Test series against South Africa.
England’s series win over Pakistan also saw their players improve their rankings this week. Youngster Harry Brook rising 15 places to 55th in the rankings for Test batsmen after his second-innings century and earning him the player of the match award. Also selected.

Their fast bowlers were also rewarded, with the all-time great James Anderson jumping from one place to another in the Test bowler rankings.
Pacers Ollie Robinson and Mark Wood also fielded No. 1-ranked Australian Pat Cummins.
Wood has moved up eight places to 34th after his six wickets for the match in Multan, with Robinson improving two places to sixth overall.
There was also a lot of buzz on the latest ODI rankings, with a bunch of players from India and Bangladesh leading the charts following the completion of their series recently.

Kohli is now India’s highest-ranked batsman after moving up two places to eighth overall.
While record-breaking teammate Ishan Kishan has moved up from the top-100 to 37th spot thanks to his brilliant double century in the third and final match of the series in Chattogram.
