With a lot of senior cricket experience under her belt, Shafali Verma will be a key player for the team. Verma has already played 74 international matches for India, scoring 2004 runs, including 12 fifties.
In fact, still 18, Verma holds the record for most runs by a player before the age of 19 in Women’s T20Is. She is also the only female player to have played 50-plus T20Is before the age of 19.
Soumya Tiwary, G Trisha and Shikha Shalot were the leading run-scorers in the Challenger Trophy along with Sehrawat and all of them make it to the team.
Uttar Pradesh left-arm spinner Sonam Yadav, who topped the wickets list in the Challenger Trophy, is a quality addition to the bowling attack. Overall, India has good all-around strength in the squad, making them one of the favorites to lift the title.
