Born in Scotland way back in 1941, Alex actually played for the Scottish team back in the 70s. He wasn’t just any player – he smashed over 600 runs and even snagged a few cool half-centuries as a batsman, not to mention his skills behind the stumps with 13 catches!

But life threw him a curveball in 2020. A rare lung disease forced him to rely on an oxygen tank, and doctors weren’t too optimistic, giving him just 1-5 years.

But Alex wasn’t about to give up on life, or cricket for that matter! He defied the odds and kept playing. A video of him wicketkeeping with the oxygen tank strapped on went viral, leaving everyone speechless. As Alex himself says, “Illness only wins when you let it.” Talk about fighting spirit!
