Because of the family crisis, he was ruled out of the spell in Australia’s Big Bash. League. Mills was to play for the Perth Scorchers but had to pull out when his daughter became ill.
However, speaking just a day after arriving in Dubai to link up with his Desert Vipers teammates, he said the trauma of that situation was now in the past and he was looking forward to getting back in action.
She recovered wonderfully
“My daughter was ill and was in the hospital for a few weeks, but she has made a spectacular recovery,” he said. “I’m really lucky they’re here with me, so it’s nice, and I have nothing to worry about at home and I can keep an eye on them here.
“It was really good for the team that I can now focus on cricket.”
“Unfortunately, I missed the Big Bash League (with Perth Scorchers), I had to reach here with seven or eight games under my belt. So, I need to take this week off, just to get up to speed again.
Mills said with a smile on his face:-
“But you don’t forget (how to bowl) – hopefully!” Mills said with a smile on his face. “And come game one I’ll be ready to go.”
