IND vs AUS: Former PCB Chief Rameez Raja said- ‘It is difficult to beat India’

IND vs AUS: Rameez Raja has praised Team India for defeating Australia by 6 wickets in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Delhi. The former player said India’s win over three days reminded him that Australia beat subcontinent teams at home.

He further added that the Australians have been terrible against spinners ever since they lost 16 wickets against spinners in the recently concluded match. Ravindra Jadeja took seven wickets in the second innings while Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets. The visiting team was dismissed for 113 runs.

He said, “Australia is reaping the fruits of its own actions. They used to eliminate Asian teams in Perth or Brisbane in three days. Australian players are not prepared when it comes to playing good cricket in India.

Australian players were not ready and their performance against spinners was poor

The former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman said Akshar Patel’s 115-run partnership with Ashwin was the turning point of the game. Akshar Patel scored 70 and shared a match-winning partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin. The Australian players were unprepared and their performance against the spinners was poor.

Raja further said that, unlike Pakistan, India not only kept the playing conditions right but also supported their strategies in the game.

He said, “It is almost impossible to beat India on a spinning track. His strategy is very successful. Pakistan also tried to prepare spin tracks and beat the opposition, but it did not happen. India not only got the conditions right but they also relied on their talent to destroy the Australian batting attack.”
