IND vs NZ 3rd ODI 2023: Team India’s wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan was warned by the match referee. Team India (IND vs NZ) wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan has been reprimanded by match referee Javagal Srinath in Hyderabad ODI against New Zealand.

Made a Big Mistake in Trying to Show Smartness:-

Because in this match Ishan Kishan made a big mistake in showing cleverness behind the wicket, the video of which started going viral on social media (India vs Newzealand). Now the umpire has warned Ishaan for this act.

In fact, on the third ball of the 16th over, Kuldeep Yadav hit Tom Latham with his ball and the ball went backward and Kishan appealed for dismissal despite not having the ball in his gloves.

When Kishan made this appeal, he did not have the ball in his hands, he had touched the wicket with his gloves. Now the umpire has warned Kishan for this dirty act and has asked him not to do so in future.

This is a Level 3 Felony:-

The ICC Code of Conduct is clear that this is a Level 3 offense claims the report. Kishan should have been charged with a Level 3 offense because he attempted to obtain an unfair advantage.

This charge results in a suspension of matches from four to 12 ODIs or T20 Internationals. In the ICC Code of Conduct, Article 2.15 ‘Attempting to obtain an unfair advantage during an international match’ includes “deliberate attempt to deceive an umpire”.

Explain that the Code also says, “In assessing the seriousness of the infringement, consideration should be given to whether the conduct was willful, reckless and/or negligent on the part of the player concerned.”

Why didn’t Srinath Punish Ishan Kishan?

The report says that Srinath took no action – probably because neither umpire Anil Chowdhary nor Nitin Menon officially informed Kishan of the incident.

At the same time, Srinath spoke separately to Kishan as well as Indian captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid.

India had won the first two matches of this series. While the last match of this series will be played in Indore on Tuesday.
