IND vs SL: The year 2022 is about to end and Indian cricket is now looking forward to a new beginning in 2023. The same is bad news for Indian opener KL Rahul. In fact, the Karnataka player is expected to be dropped from the domestic T20 squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka series. Rahul’s opening partner, the experienced Rohit Sharma has also not recovered from the injury sustained during the Bangladesh ODI, due to which he too will not be able to play in the series.

He scored only 434 runs with the help of six half-centuries, but most of those innings hampered the team’s target. Seven of the remaining ten innings in which KL Rahul did not score were in single digits.

Rohit suffered a thumb injury in the third ODI against Bangladesh and has not been a part of the Indian team since then. He was also ruled out of the two-Test series against Bangladesh which led to his deputy Lokesh Rahul winning the series 2–0.

In Rohit’s absence, Hardik Pandya, who captained the team in New Zealand, will lead the India T20 team

It is possible that in the absence of Rohit, Hardik Pandya, who captained the team in New Zealand, will lead the India T20 team. It is expect that the BCCI will replace Rohit Sharma as India’s full-time T20 captain.

Sri Lanka tour of India 2023

Sri Lanka is all set to tour India in January next year for a three-match T20I and ODI series. The six-match series will play in Mumbai, Pune, Rajkot, Guwahati, Kolkata, and Thiruvananthapuram.
